How To Get Into The Holiday Spirit & My Two Christmases

While editing this post I was multitasking and reading lovely Christmas-inspired updates from my blogger friends. Most were overjoyed and excited about Christmas. A few were stressed, exhausted and not at all in the mood to celebrate. You know what, I can understand both sides perfectly and will chat in detail about my take on it in the 'view full post' part. Now, let's take a minute and read again the title of today's post. Nope, I am not going to try and turn someone from a "grinch" into a "Santa's helper". As cheesy as it might sound, I just want to spread a bit of holiday cheer and give genuine, not generic, advice for you this Christmas. As for the second part of the title: if you're like "huh?!" right now, I promise there's nothing too cryptic about it. Read on and let's get festive together!

Shine Bright Like A Diamond: Gemporia Wishlist & Sapphire Love

We're beautiful like diamonds in the sky. Thanks for your wisdom and a fab metaphor, Riri. It might be a shocker but I don't agree that diamonds are girl's best friends. That role is much better "performed" by your mum/dad, your husband/fiance/boyfriend, your bestie or even your cat :) However, I do love diamonds. When that SPECIAL piece of jewelry finds you (yes, it totally finds you, and not vice versa), you just know it will stick around for a long time. I am not talking about cute little stacking sets of bijouterie rings or that 2kg statement necklace we all own. It was bought, loved, forgotten or eventually lost. But this post will be about something that lasts, something that matters and stays. Gemstones with a meaning, diamonds with a history, masterpieces which are passed on from generation to generation. On top of that, I have this unexplainable affection towards sapphires. Let's explore all the goodness ;)

Perfect Christmas Lipstick: Rimmel The Only One 510

Why don't I just join the rest of the mankind and say: "How on earth is Christmas time next week?!" Another thing that puzzles me is how come I only had one mince pie this December. ONE. This error needs to be fixed ASAP. Other than that, I'm having a very festive month of December and will chit chat about this wonderful season more in the end of this post. Back to mince pies. And PJs. And Christmas Day. I don't know why I said PJs, by the way :) Nevertheless, no matter what you are wearing on the BEST morning of all the top ranking mornings of the year, you do eventually (sadly) need to change into "normal" clothes. The best part of it is getting all dolled up. Without starting to make a lot of Harry Potter or Cinderella references, I will just say that you can look absolutely fabulous this winter with the help of this incredible red lipstick aka Rimmel The Only One 510. The name speaks for itself - Best Of The Best.

Christmas Decorations & Traditions: Cozy At Home

Well, how cozier can it ever get than around this time of the year? I love December with its twinkly soft lights, fleece blankets, cinnamon-scented candles and one hundred cups of tea/cocoa/hot chocolate :) Plus, music. Lots of Christmas music. And Christmas movies. Even though I am one of those weirdos who can watch Home Alone in August no prob :) This post will be super Christmassy as I'm going to show your our decorations & little bits and bobs around our house. There might even be a few fun facts about holiday traditions from the countries where I lived. Get that cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows (+ please, make me one as well), get cozy and let's chat about everything Christmas :)

Clinique All About Eyes Rich Cream Review

How many hours of sleep does an average adult person get every night? In a perfect world - 8. In reality - 6, if you're lucky :) This review isn't going to be about a "magic cream" which erases all the traces of the 'I-barely-got-any-sleep' situation or gets the phrase 'dark circles' out of your dictionary. We wish, right? Not sure such a cream was ever invented. However, this is one of the best eye creams I've ever had and it does a fab job at keeping your under-eye skin moisturized and eliminating those dark circles. So if you are just like one of Santa's elves who stays up till late (working/studying/reading/being sucked into the Instagram wormhole) and needs to look fresher and brighter in the morning (and all day long), this cream might be just up your street ;)

Secret Santa Gift Ideas

So "decking the hall" has begun as you have probably seen on my Twitter and Instagram. It's so exciting to get Christmas decorations out and start re-creating the mixture of Lapland and elf workshop inside your own house :) You don't need much to do that. As long as it's nice and cozy, you are golden. But I'm rushing ahead - a post on our Christmas decor (all the unique bits & pieces that are super pretty and meaningful to us) and our Christmas tree is coming very soon ;) Today's post is hopefully going to help you to score that perfect Secret Santa gift

Let's Get Cozy: ZARA OOTD

This is big in a way lovelies - it's an OOTD post today woot woot! :) I am definitely keeping Miel and Mint a lifestyle and beauty blog and will be adding a bit more fashion and food to the equation. At the end of the day I do hope you will love this fusion of inspiration I was, am and will be bringing to you. As you read in my previous posts and saw on Twitter, I've been away this month quite a lot. I love traveling and being up in the air sometimes relaxes me more than sitting on the couch (can't believe I just said that). BUT it's so good to be back home :) It's been a great month being away here and there but it's lovely to wake up in your own bed and use your favourite mug to make coffee in the morning. It's little things like that. Plus, there are big things. I have missed my hubby while I was away WAY too much. So happy to be back together! I have missed you all as well! I am also making it my mission for the rest of November + December (and onwards!) to be on top of everything Miel and Mint related. Also I am toying with this massive dilemma... which I will ask your opinion on at end of this post. Let's get cozy with Zara now ;)

My Victoria's Secret Beauty Collection

As many of you know, I have been away yet again. I had no idea this fall would be so travel-heavy. No matter what I am traveling for - fun or work - it's so nice to come back home to my hubby. The amazing thing is we relocated here not so long ago but it does feel like home. Yay for that! Earlier tonight hubby and I went to the town centre to watch the Christmas Parade and Christmas Lights getting turned on. Oh the festive fun! Pure bliss :) Today's post relates to those two words more than anything if we talk beauty. I haven't met a girl/woman who is indifferent to Victoria's Secret and all the goodies the brand has to offer. However, I will not be showing you any personal or intimate pieces from VS (no one cancelled decency), but I will happily share my beauty and miscellaneous stash I use, love and want more of. Let's be honest, it's absolutely impossible to walk past all the endless rows of amazingly-smelling VS stuff. Even my phone got a new sleek plastic treat ;)

Today's post is a very special one as it is my very first guest post, and it couldn't be a more perfect collab. A couple of months ago I came across a fab blog written and run by two lovely sisters Annie & Cat, and have been following Collective Passions since. Today they are sharing something they both love on my blog, and I'm sharing Thanksgiving-inspired makeup tips & tricks on their blog. If you are into blanket scarves and baking (or eating) delicious muffins, make sure to read on. Also, head over to Collective Passions to read Thanksgiving beauty special on their blog. Don't forget to enter an amazing giveaway at the end of this post. Good luck and read on!

New Makeup I Love This Fall

This fall I have tried a number of different new beauty products I've been either meaning to test out or as a result of "jumping on the bandwagon" :) I picked out three most loved ones (I wanted to include my Makeup Revolution matte palette but I've already done a review on it here). Before we dive into the ode to these beauties, I just wanted to say huge thanks for the support you continually show me on my blog <3 Also, as I am yet to catch another flight (well, technically two flights) tomorrow, I'm multitasking editing this post and packing. These 3 beauty products are definitely coming with me. Follow me on my travel adventures on TwitterInstagram & Facebook. Definitely feeling adventurous because I have 2 Lufthansa flights to catch. Let's hope they will be as scheduled.

Blogging: How To Be Organised and Plan Your Posts

How To Organise Your Blog
When it comes to blogging, there is no right or wrong about how you stay on top of your game - as long as you do. A few days ago in one of the Twitter chats we were discussing issues related to time and blogging, organising and scheduling. There isn't even a tiny shadow of a doubt how familiar this topic sounds to every blogger. There are so many commitments that we have daily, which makes it almost supernatural to get every little thing done. Blogger's lifestyle is very busy! Do you blog whenever you please or do you plan your schedule? Are you more of a "whenever-it-strikes-me" or "I-got-it-sorted-a-year-in-advance" kind of a blogging girl/guy? If you are struggling with time management and would like to be more organised in your blogging life, read on ;)

My Thoughts: #EssenaOneill - Social Media Is Not Real Life

Essena O'Neill quits social media
Some people are saying they are sick and tired of #EssenaOneill story and call it fake. Others react with astonishment, and support Essena's new "real" identity. One way or another, this teenage girl from Australia is "trending" on social media. Ironically, I was going to post today about how to stay organised with your blog and give you great planning advice. However, my plan for today changed. I absolutely HAD to share this story and my thoughts on it. "Rookie" or "veteran", each of us, bloggers, wants to keep up the pace. We plan, write, schedule, organise and try to do our best to stay on top of everything. BUT, in my opinion, we must stay alert, aware, "alive" and spontaneous. You can create content 2 years ahead (which is wonderful) but don't make it feel as if it's set in stone + don't be afraid to escape the plan, and that's advice from a planning addict! So in a few days we will get back to the blogging advice on being organised. For now let's get out of the box, go with a spur-of-the-moment, and hopefully learn from the drama surrounding Essena O'Neill, "behind the scenes" of social media and more.

October Favourites

October Favourites
Aww, I am going to miss October! It's been such a great month this year: lots of traveling (#airportcitizen), my hubby's big birthday celebration and amazing long weekend away + friends coming to stay with us for the Halloween weekend. I loved it so much! Even though we didn't dress up nor went to a themed party/get-together this year, it doesn't make it less of an exciting recap of the month. There is just something so cozy about October. Crunchy leaves on the ground, warm glow of lit candles, suggles under the blanket, the delicious smell of pumpkin-anything... Thank you, October, you were wonderful. I have a good feeling about November and starting to get excited about Christmas. But before we start singing "fa la la la la la la la la" together, let's take a look at my

Bourjois Heathy Mix vs MAC Pro Longwear: Foundation Review

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - MAC Pro Longwear Foundation - Review
Settling back into the routine is not easy after you travel a lot. But I am thankful for such an amazing experience getting to see new places with my hubby and his family. So I am sitting here and reminiscing about holidays and long weekends while cozing up next to a warm radiator and writing this post. Plus, it's raining outside. Coziness overload :) Fab news is that I also managed to take photos for a few future posts this morning because late afternoons and evenings are off limits now. Feels like we live in the Arctic where daylight is a luxury. Fellow bloggers would relate. On a different note, I am bringing a highly-requested post to you today. Do you know that happy feeling when you finally (!!!) find THE foundation? Well, it doubled for me. After having tried numerous products of different amazing (and not so amazing) brands, I can definitely go "Yay!" about these two. Therefore, here's my

Sephora Haul: Trip to Krakow

Sephora Haul
I am excited about sharing this post with you today. It has been highly requested after I told you here about our surprise trip to Krakow for my hubby's birthday & mentioned about my little trip to Sephora on Instagram. I can definitely confirm one thing - when you go to a city which has a Sephora store, you simply can't pass by :) I didn't get crazy amount of makeup (I tried to do my best to keep that under control). But I did get a few amazing bits and pieces that I either already love or wanted to try. Our trip to Krakow for my hubby's birthday weekend was absolutely amazing. My Pacer (I mentioned it in my previous post here) must have broken all the records for the step count (yaaaas!). Last Friday we made over whooping 20,000 steps! This week has been pretty hectic/busy but I am back to blogging and will be posting at least 3 posts a week just like I always did. Today's post is going to be a lovely mixture of the haul with a few photos from Krakow and a short recap from our amazing trip.

How To Stay Motivated To Workout

How to Stay Motivated to Workout
So I am back, yay! Sorry for disappearing from your feed and your lovely blogs last week. I got a few messages asking if everything was OK and I couldn't be more thankful for your care and love (which you are actually showing me by reading these lines right now). I do have a valid (and very happy) excuse for being MIA because last week my hubby turned big three o and we had an amazing celebration with his friends and family. Then on Wednesday (his actual birth day) we took off for a long weekend to Krakow, Poland. I had to keep it hush hush since he reads my blog (he's amazing!). So now that we are back and I am slowly getting back into normal routine, I had to let you know that I missed you all + I've been working on a number of very exciting posts that I just can not wait to share! Today's post is one of them.
Have you ever been pretty good or even amazing with your workouts (or diet) and then snap - something happened to your motivation? Either gradually or immediately you find yourself snacking on candy and thoughts about gym make you want to lie down and take a nap. Yup, we've all been there. Since for a number of months I have been neglecting working out and my diet has been all over the place, I've reached the point when it was time to "re-boot" my whole mindset about workouts and clean eating. So I jotted down these fundamental tips that helped me and, I hope, will help you to start and, most importantly, stay motivated to workout and keep going.

Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte Palette + Blushing Hearts review

Makeup Revolution palette
Since this beauty arrived at my door over a month ago, I was determined to give it a go and test it out to write a review and discuss all the yay's and nay's. Pretty much every blogger (especially beauty-loving one) heard about Makeup Revolution palettes and have probably even tried a few. Personally, I read a bunch of reviews on Affirmation and was a click away from buying it when I saw this stunner called Flawless Matte. Even though Affirmation is beautiful, it does have too much shimmer for my liking, so matte shades sounded like something totally up my street! Whenever mister postman delivered this happy mail, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this palette. Also, inside the package there was a lovely surprise. Makeup Revolution included two blushers with it! I couldn't believe it! Excitement overload. NB: this is not a sponsored post, palette was purchased by me and blushers came as a gift (thank you, Makeup Revolution). You will always get nothing less but a genuine review from me on Miel and Mint.
Let's find out more about my Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte palette and

Wedding Planning 101: Bridesmaids Dresses & Beautiful Gowns on a Budget

Having had an awful day at the Acute Care Unit, you tend to give your life a quick look through and start giving thanks. All the tests, including MRI, came clear and I am thankful to the Lord beyond measure that everything is OK. My headaches are less severe and hopefully tablets I was given will get them sorted out and get rid of them completely. Also, such moments make you thankful for family and friends. This man in the above pic who's making a funny face at his bride, is the love of my life and my absolute everything. These two smiling girlies are also so special to me. Friends (real ones) are there for life and nothing will change that. Today's post is dedicated to including those special (girl)friends into your wedding party and making them feel beautiful (they always are, let's be honest) and special on your Best.Day.Ever. Also, you can use these tips and pick out a perfect dress for yourself if you are invited to a wedding as a guest.

Boots Mini Haul: My Top 7 Essentials

Boots Mini Haul
As some of you may have noticed the absence of much chatter from me or much action at Miel and Mint over the weekend, it is because I've been suffering from awful migraines/sinus headache for a week now. They do knock you out from your normal routine, including blogging. That's why there has been a sofa + minimum screen time + hot tea + fuzzy socks + book + medicines kind of time. However, on Saturday I felt a little bit better in the afternoon (for like a few hours) and my Boots gift card (which I got from my lovely hubby a few weeks ago) was calling my name :) I decided to be smart and not splash out on useless bric a brac / impulse purchases, but instead to make sure and get the staples and a few amazing recommendations from other blogger babes.
Let's take a closer look at my Boots Mini Haul & my top 7 essentials:

September Favourites

September Favourites
Can you believe September has ended or am I the only one who didn't get the memo it even started? :) It is officially fall (aka autumn). And I am ready as ever to share my September Favourites with you. There was a number of things I've been enjoying last month and it's so nice to look back and appreciate them once again. It is honestly a mixture of everything and I love it! :) I am excited to see what October brings, and this month is going to be really amazing (hubby's big birthday, 2 lovely trips, Halloween & friends coming to stay with us - can't wait!).
Not a moment more to wait ;) Let's have a look at my September Favourites!

My 5 Top Hair Care and Styling Products

"People always ask me how long it takes to do my hair. I don't know, I'm never there" - Dolly Parton
When it comes to hair, I can write a dissertation on the topic. I've done it all: grew it out, had it hideously cut, got highlights (what in the world was I thinking), had it bleached, got it laminated, got it dyed nicely and got it trimmed over and over again. Right now I am trying to grow it out but because I still want to remain a blonde, my hair refuses to grow past current 14-15 inches. More on that later in this post before I get into the whole hair growth rant :) So today I would like to introduce my favourite and essential hair care and basic styling products that I use either every single day or very often. It wasn't easy to pick only a few (I left out my shampoo though I will link you to it because it's amazing and super affordable). Ok, let's go wash, spray & take care of those strands together ;)

My Favourite Places in New York City // Part 2

Thank you so much to everyone who commented on how much you enjoyed a little trip to New York City with me in My Favourite Places in NYC // Part 1 post :) (if you haven't read it, make sure to check it out). I loved sharing those special locations with you all. Ok, now it's time to make a cup of tea or coffee, get Jay-Z ft. Alicia Keys "Empire State of Mind" playing in the background and let's dive into Big Apple because "these streets will make you feel brand you, the lights will inspire you...". As you can see, I am already listening to the unofficial anthem of NYC. Fun fact: this song is played every New Year's Eve when the clock strikes 12. Amazing atmosphere! Today I will take you way (way!) up, we will remember 9/11, feed the squirrels, go shopping, get into the Christmas mood and say hello to Carrie Bradshaw.
I promised you 5 more places but I will give you 2 or 3 bonus ones ;)
Join me to see My Favourite Places in New York City - Part 2.

My Favourite Places in New York City // Part 1

Before we virtually travel together to one of the most amazing cities on this planet, I have to say right off the bat that I love New York (soooooo much!) and I wish I could list 1000 places for you to see, but even that would never be enough. Big Apple is a very special place and it is the city that stole my heart once and forever.
Before I went there, I imagined it thousands of times in my mind. What I saw with my own eyes was so much better than any fruit of my imagination. Let's jump back over 10 years ago. Do you see a teenage girl from the middle of nowhere in Eastern Europe, standing in the heart of Times Square and crying? Yup, I cried rivers because my huge dream came true. With a little village behind my back, big scary world of higher education in front of me, I applied for a scholarship to study in the US. They called me one sunny day mid-April and told me I was among 100 other candidates (out of 45,000) who received a grant to study in the United States. God had a plan for me to go there and I did. 5 months in and the same girl started to study and live in the City That Never Sleeps waking up every morning with a thankful heart :) I went to NYC a number of times after leaving the US back then but that first time will always be extra special. Last time I woke up in Big Apple was a year ago on our honeymoon. I can't even tell you how amazing it is to make such beautiful memories together <3 New York does win you over quickly and sucks you right in with its beauty and versatility, culture and noise, history and vibe.
Come visit New York with me as I take you to my 5 favourite places in Manhattan, NYC - Part 1.
{In the next post I will show you another 5 must-see spots in gorgeous Big Apple}

What To Wear on a Plane: Airport Fashion Do's and Don'ts

Next month I will be catching 3 flights (6 if you count return). It is not part of my monthly routine but this October just happens to mean a lot of airport time. Plus, I am a good flyer and don't mind being lifted to 39,000 feet and higher. On the contrary, it relaxes me :) Having flown quite a lot in the last 10 years both domestically and (mostly) internationally, I picked up a number of great tips on how to make the whole experience better. It includes different flying-related hacks, preparation and organisation and last but definitely not least - airport fashion. This one is often (sadly) neglected by most people. I certainly don't mean that you should be displaying your haute couture pieces at the airport, though you can if you want to. So what exactly are you supposed to wear at the airport and on a plane to feel and look great?
Let's take a look at these essential DO's and DON'Ts you need to know about travel fashion:

Best Nail Polish Colours For Fall

When it comes to nail polish, I am an advocate for "there's no such thing as too many shades". Every colour is unique and beautiful. Girls know that. Men are not just unable to tell the difference between robin egg blue and viridian green, but they don't believe in the colour palette at all, apart from rainbow colours + black and white :)
On a different note, as we have said gbyes to the lovely nudes, pastels and all the summer'y colours (you can still get away with some of them), it's time to get that fall/autumn collection out.
I would love to share with you my top 5 favourite nail polishes for this chilly & cozy season.

8 Photos of Happiness

Does it take you a long time to look through your old (and new) photos because you start reminiscing? Yup, my case exactly. I was tagged by two lovely girls Sophie and Teri to do this great tag called "8 Photos of Happiness". To say that I am big photo hoarder is an understatement. Ask my husband and he will tell you how I can take over 100 pictures of a perfectly still lake :) Nevertheless, it was very difficult to narrow it down to only 8. Plus, all of the actual prints of my favourite photos (especially good old b&w prints) are left back in Ukraine in my apartment. Little disclaimer: please excuse the watermark on the photos (hope it doesn't annoy you too much), I prefer to use it on the pictures of my family and friends that I post online or simply my own and personal photos. Anyway, after browsing for a while on my camera / phone / photo stash on the computer / Facebook / Instagram and whatnot, the decision was made.
Here are my 8 Photos of Happiness (aka 8 Photos That Make Me Happy):

Blogging Advice: How To Run Your Blog & Keep Up The Pace

This week I received a few messages on Twitter from fellow bloggers. Our chit chat had somehow steered in the direction of "How To Run A Successful Blog (+ live and breathe at the same time)" and "Blogging Tips" in general (#hottopicsamongbloggers). In my humble opinion, the main issue every blogger had, has or will definitely have at some stage is how to keep up the pace and avoid becoming overwhelmed and stressed. In no way I consider myself an expert in blogging even though I've been following and reading blogs for many years. Things are completely different when you start your own blog and face all these different issues: what to write, when to post, how to approach others, what to share, how to self-promote, etc. We are not going to go over all of these questions today but I would like to share with you my personal (and friendly) advice on how to run your blog at full speed, prevent burnout and enjoy it all in the process.

What's In My Bag: Fall Edition

Every season the contents of my bag change but some items always stay there. Also, the bigger the bag, the more I feel the urge to pack it full. I have no idea why I do it but I'm sure a lot of you can relate. Some items tend to pile up and then I face the "clean out the black hole" type of situation :) However, when it comes to my Michael Kors I put an extra effort into keeping things organised inside this beauty. This bag is very special to me because it was a present from my husband on our honeymoon and purchased in Las Vegas. #amazingmemories
Here is what I currently have inside my MK bag:

Holiday Recap: What I Wore In Gran Canaria

Summer 2015 was truly amazing, especially the very end of it when hubby and I were EasyJet'ed off to warm and wonderful Gran Canaria. It was one of the best and most relaxing holidays. You can imagine the shock of the 7 degrees Celsius (low 40s F) when we walked out of the plane at 1 am after having landed in London Gatwick. Brrr! This photo of me wrapped up in a towel is not one of the outfits. However, it is nice to wrap up and cover those burnt shoulders after beach bummin' all day every day :) I hope you will enjoy reading this post as well as having a sneak peak at some of the outfits I wore on holiday.

Wedding Planning 101: Wedding Stationery

Today I am going to share a very special post with you. As I was editing photos (and trying not to spend ages looking at them, awww) and as I am writing this now, I go back in my mind to the most special day in my life - our wedding day. To say that it was a fairytale wedding, is an understatement. Pinterest, you would crave it on your pages!! :) However, what I call fairytale could mean something absolutely different to others. We are all unique - as cliche as it sounds. The main thing is to make your Big Day special for the two of you (and your families and friends). My hubby and I, along with our families, put our hearts into organising the most perfect day for us to start our married life.

A number of my sweet fellow bloggers and friends are getting married this and next year so this post might come in handy. Even if you are not a bride-to-be right now, read on and pin away (please make sure to remember that all the photos are my property and the design work belongs to Es-Design). Also, no matter what age you are now, either you had your wedding day 2 or 20 years ago, or will have it in 10 years from now, I hope you will enjoy this post as I am opening up something so precious and dear to me.

Night Routine: Clarins Multi-Active Night Youth Recovery Cream Review

Holiday time is officially over and it's time to get back to 'reality' and dive into the beautiful autumn/fall. I have had such an amazing time with my hubby (mentally insert all the summer'y emojis you can think of here). We needed a super relaxing getaway somewhere where there are more palm trees than tourists and the sand is coloured platinum to golden blonde (couldn't resist a hair colour ref!). Apart from the after sun lotion, my night routine didn't change on vacation and it had to include a good moisturizing night cream.

5 Must-Have Suede Ankle Boots For Fall: My Wishlist

As we are rolling into the cooler weather and all the fashion goodness that comes in the package, it's high time to revisit your shoe collection and put away those flip flops and sandals. I am still enjoying the heat of Gran Canaria but mentally preparing myself for very chilly mornings in England next week. That's when I am bringing my suede to play! Being big this fall (especially suede button front skirts!), it has always been my favourite type of leather (apart from the actual leather) when it came to ankle boots.
Here are my 5 Must-Have Suede Ankle Boots this fall:

How To Plan and Set Effective Goals

September starts my favourite season of the year with its new adventures, goals, ideas and discoveries. If you're anything like me, you probably make an occasional New Year's resolution. Sometimes you stick to it, sometimes you don't. But, something just clicks when September comes. You slowly "recover" from a post-holiday/vacation daze and realize you actually need to do something! Maybe, you are even full of energy and drive, you jump at projects and get pro-active (at least, let's hope we all feel that way!). If you want to take on the world and make those very-much-needed changes (at work, uni, school, your love life, your home, your blog, your anything), you need a plan, girl. Personally for me September is like this magical word "tomorrow" where everything happens. So without any more chatter, let's make a plan and set super effective goals for September. Are you with me?

Let The Holiday Begin

In just a few hours we are taking off and will be at the beach by the end of the day. I just can't wait to have this little getaway! It's both my hubby's and my first holiday since the honeymoon. So well-deserved! With that in mind, I will try and publish a couple of posts I pre-wrote but please bear with me if I don't get to visit all of your lovely blogs over the next few days. Be sure I will definitely catch up when we are back home ;) By the way, if you follow me, you know that I head over to every single one of your blogs and make sure I leave a thoughtful comment + follow you on Bloglovin'. I just think it's so important to support each other and I take blogging for what it is (or was initially): writing, sharing, making friends and having a good time while doing it. I will try my very best to reply to all the comments you take time to write during next week. I appreciate every single one of them! <3 I have so many amazing things planned for Miel and Mint starting September! Looking forward to growing together with you and staying real in all aspects of this word.
Meanwhile, in the next 7 days I am planning to enjoy my hubby's company (yay to all this time together!), the sun, the sea, and the sand :) Stay tuned with my posts that will be published on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday next week. Really hope you will enjoy reading them and I will catch up with you soon!
How are you going to spend this last weekend of summer 2015?

August Favourites

Only 4 & a half days to go of beautiful summer 2015... I thought it would be great to sum it up with my August Favourites this year. There is an open suitcase sitting in front of me on the floor, waiting to be packed. So excited to catch a little bit of sun before rolling into the fall. I can't wait to see what it brings.
Without further ado, here are my August Favourites.

Back to School: The Ultimate Checklist

Even though I am a university graduate and it happened a lot time ago, I am exciting to write this post. Back to School time of the year is almost as exciting as Christmas. Why? One reason: stationery! :) Not that I didn't like going back to school after summer holidays (I actually really did!). However, shopping for new pencils and new notebooks is So.Much.Fun. Stationery is not just "stuff" you get in order to use it. It can be inspiring (!) and it can easily put you in a better mood when you colour-code in that brand new lovely notebook or get to make that sentence stand out with a spanking new funky-looking highlighter. Even your busy class schedule doesn't bother you because hey, you get to jot those hours in with your new gorgeous pens! Fellow stationery addicts, you know exactly what I am talking about! Even if you don't go back to school (HS, college, uni), these items would always feel welcome in your handbag, because: a) you might need; b) they are cute! I think B wins.
Here's my Back to School checklist (stationery edition):

What's In My Travel Washbag

What's In My Washbag - Miel and Mint blog
Only 5 days to go and we will be beach bummin' in gorgeous Gran Canaria. Ahhh! With that in mind, I started making a packing list and also checking the contents of my travel washbag not to forget something I will not be able to buy on a holiday. Right off the bat, I would like to say: don't panic if you do forget an item you absolutely "can't-do-without". You're on holiday after all, enjoy yourself ;)
Let's have a look inside my travel washbag.

Summer Through My Instagram

How fast has this summer gone? Is it just me or has anyone else got a little shock that in 10 days we welcome September in? Even though it has flown by quickly, it's been amazing and big in my life! 3 major things happened: 1) our First Year Anniversary (5 Things I Learned in My First Year of Marriage); 2) we relocated; 3) we did so much! :) Now, in no chronological order but with my short commentary, let's dive into my summer 2015 through my Instagram.

Fantastic Four: Best Drugstore Makeup Products

A friend of mine once told me that she uses only luxury beauty products and would never even consider going to the drugstore to do makeup shopping. Nevertheless, when she saw me wearing my eyeliner, she asked if it was Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting eyeliner. It wasn't. She also noticed the texture of my powder and wondered if it was Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder. Even though I love those brands, but no, it wasn't. I would like to share with you my Fantastic Four straight from your nearest Boots, Superdrug, Walgreens or CVS Pharmacy.

5 Things I Learned in My First Year of Marriage

Miel and Mint blog - Wedding of Nadia and Thomas
What God has joined together, let not man separate. {Matthew 19:6}

This post is very special for me to write since last week we celebrated our First Anniversary. One thing I have to say right off the bat - it is not going to be a generic post about all the must-do's or these broad and vague pieces of advice on marriage. This is my genuine and personal experience I would like to share with you.
