Let The Holiday Begin

In just a few hours we are taking off and will be at the beach by the end of the day. I just can't wait to have this little getaway! It's both my hubby's and my first holiday since the honeymoon. So well-deserved! With that in mind, I will try and publish a couple of posts I pre-wrote but please bear with me if I don't get to visit all of your lovely blogs over the next few days. Be sure I will definitely catch up when we are back home ;) By the way, if you follow me, you know that I head over to every single one of your blogs and make sure I leave a thoughtful comment + follow you on Bloglovin'. I just think it's so important to support each other and I take blogging for what it is (or was initially): writing, sharing, making friends and having a good time while doing it. I will try my very best to reply to all the comments you take time to write during next week. I appreciate every single one of them! <3 I have so many amazing things planned for Miel and Mint starting September! Looking forward to growing together with you and staying real in all aspects of this word.
Meanwhile, in the next 7 days I am planning to enjoy my hubby's company (yay to all this time together!), the sun, the sea, and the sand :) Stay tuned with my posts that will be published on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday next week. Really hope you will enjoy reading them and I will catch up with you soon!
How are you going to spend this last weekend of summer 2015?

August Favourites

Only 4 & a half days to go of beautiful summer 2015... I thought it would be great to sum it up with my August Favourites this year. There is an open suitcase sitting in front of me on the floor, waiting to be packed. So excited to catch a little bit of sun before rolling into the fall. I can't wait to see what it brings.
Without further ado, here are my August Favourites.

Back to School: The Ultimate Checklist

Even though I am a university graduate and it happened a lot time ago, I am exciting to write this post. Back to School time of the year is almost as exciting as Christmas. Why? One reason: stationery! :) Not that I didn't like going back to school after summer holidays (I actually really did!). However, shopping for new pencils and new notebooks is So.Much.Fun. Stationery is not just "stuff" you get in order to use it. It can be inspiring (!) and it can easily put you in a better mood when you colour-code in that brand new lovely notebook or get to make that sentence stand out with a spanking new funky-looking highlighter. Even your busy class schedule doesn't bother you because hey, you get to jot those hours in with your new gorgeous pens! Fellow stationery addicts, you know exactly what I am talking about! Even if you don't go back to school (HS, college, uni), these items would always feel welcome in your handbag, because: a) you might need; b) they are cute! I think B wins.
Here's my Back to School checklist (stationery edition):

What's In My Travel Washbag

What's In My Washbag - Miel and Mint blog
Only 5 days to go and we will be beach bummin' in gorgeous Gran Canaria. Ahhh! With that in mind, I started making a packing list and also checking the contents of my travel washbag not to forget something I will not be able to buy on a holiday. Right off the bat, I would like to say: don't panic if you do forget an item you absolutely "can't-do-without". You're on holiday after all, enjoy yourself ;)
Let's have a look inside my travel washbag.

Summer Through My Instagram

How fast has this summer gone? Is it just me or has anyone else got a little shock that in 10 days we welcome September in? Even though it has flown by quickly, it's been amazing and big in my life! 3 major things happened: 1) our First Year Anniversary (5 Things I Learned in My First Year of Marriage); 2) we relocated; 3) we did so much! :) Now, in no chronological order but with my short commentary, let's dive into my summer 2015 through my Instagram.

Fantastic Four: Best Drugstore Makeup Products

A friend of mine once told me that she uses only luxury beauty products and would never even consider going to the drugstore to do makeup shopping. Nevertheless, when she saw me wearing my eyeliner, she asked if it was Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting eyeliner. It wasn't. She also noticed the texture of my powder and wondered if it was Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder. Even though I love those brands, but no, it wasn't. I would like to share with you my Fantastic Four straight from your nearest Boots, Superdrug, Walgreens or CVS Pharmacy.

5 Things I Learned in My First Year of Marriage

Miel and Mint blog - Wedding of Nadia and Thomas
What God has joined together, let not man separate. {Matthew 19:6}

This post is very special for me to write since last week we celebrated our First Anniversary. One thing I have to say right off the bat - it is not going to be a generic post about all the must-do's or these broad and vague pieces of advice on marriage. This is my genuine and personal experience I would like to share with you.

~Tag~ Liebster Award

am really excited as I am typing this because I was nominated for the Liebster Award by lovely Emily // Trendpill. It is an online award given to new bloggers by other bloggers who have been around for a bit longer. Moreover, it is a great way to discover new gems and simply make more friends. I love this idea and I will pass on the tag/nomination gladly. I am so thankful to everyone who takes time to read my blog (I started it only 2 weeks ago and I am already in love with the blogging world & community). Your presence on Miel and Mint is appreciated and I look forward to making more blogger friends.

Amazing Trends: When Your Outfit Is On Point

Every day we (read: girls) wake up and face the same dilemma - what to wear. I don't know about you but I would sometimes stand and examine my wardrobe carefully for good 5 minutes as if I see it for the very first time (insert a joke here lol) and then start coming up with outfits in my mind. I admire people who prepare their outfits the night before. I would never be able to do that. I make The Decision in the morning based on the destination/occasion, my mood and the weather (don't get me started on the unpredictable English weather). However, here are the tips I have gathered during my morning "struggles" how not just to pick your outfit but how to make it always look 'on point' (obsessed with this lovely slang term; thank you whoever came up with it).

My Favourite Liquid Foundations

My journey with make-up started probably about 9 or 10 years ago. I mostly just used BB creams and a little bit of mascara at that time but soon realized how much nicer it made my skin look even though I've never had any major skin issues apart from an occasional little spot here and there. Things changed dramatically after one particular stressful year. My skin broke out badly and I tried everything to help the situation. That was pretty much the time when I started to use liquid foundation (+ concealer) to cover those imperfections. Now my skin doesn't break out but I still have a little bit of scarring (+ a few tiny spots) left and need my medium coverage fix.
So here are my most used and repurchased time after time liquid foundation favourites.

Weekend in Cardiff - Get Your Rugby On

Never in a million years I could imagine I would be traveling beside my husband across the UK exploring the country. Being a Ukrainian girl who never even could dream of visiting Great Britain, every trip like this is special. Even now, having settled here and the UK became my home, I still get so excited about seeing new places. To be honest, I never want to lose this excitement. To end this cheesy ramble, I will take you straight down to Cardiff for a rugby match ;) Disclaimer: it is official – I am hooked on rugby!

Writing relaxes me so much and it's something I've always enjoyed. Sharing, getting to know the community, enjoying being a part of it makes it even more special, doesn't it? I am absolutely ecstatic to start my own blog and for it to be my little happy nook where I can share things I love with you guys.
