My 5 Top Hair Care and Styling Products

"People always ask me how long it takes to do my hair. I don't know, I'm never there" - Dolly Parton
When it comes to hair, I can write a dissertation on the topic. I've done it all: grew it out, had it hideously cut, got highlights (what in the world was I thinking), had it bleached, got it laminated, got it dyed nicely and got it trimmed over and over again. Right now I am trying to grow it out but because I still want to remain a blonde, my hair refuses to grow past current 14-15 inches. More on that later in this post before I get into the whole hair growth rant :) So today I would like to introduce my favourite and essential hair care and basic styling products that I use either every single day or very often. It wasn't easy to pick only a few (I left out my shampoo though I will link you to it because it's amazing and super affordable). Ok, let's go wash, spray & take care of those strands together ;)

My Favourite Places in New York City // Part 2

Thank you so much to everyone who commented on how much you enjoyed a little trip to New York City with me in My Favourite Places in NYC // Part 1 post :) (if you haven't read it, make sure to check it out). I loved sharing those special locations with you all. Ok, now it's time to make a cup of tea or coffee, get Jay-Z ft. Alicia Keys "Empire State of Mind" playing in the background and let's dive into Big Apple because "these streets will make you feel brand you, the lights will inspire you...". As you can see, I am already listening to the unofficial anthem of NYC. Fun fact: this song is played every New Year's Eve when the clock strikes 12. Amazing atmosphere! Today I will take you way (way!) up, we will remember 9/11, feed the squirrels, go shopping, get into the Christmas mood and say hello to Carrie Bradshaw.
I promised you 5 more places but I will give you 2 or 3 bonus ones ;)
Join me to see My Favourite Places in New York City - Part 2.

My Favourite Places in New York City // Part 1

Before we virtually travel together to one of the most amazing cities on this planet, I have to say right off the bat that I love New York (soooooo much!) and I wish I could list 1000 places for you to see, but even that would never be enough. Big Apple is a very special place and it is the city that stole my heart once and forever.
Before I went there, I imagined it thousands of times in my mind. What I saw with my own eyes was so much better than any fruit of my imagination. Let's jump back over 10 years ago. Do you see a teenage girl from the middle of nowhere in Eastern Europe, standing in the heart of Times Square and crying? Yup, I cried rivers because my huge dream came true. With a little village behind my back, big scary world of higher education in front of me, I applied for a scholarship to study in the US. They called me one sunny day mid-April and told me I was among 100 other candidates (out of 45,000) who received a grant to study in the United States. God had a plan for me to go there and I did. 5 months in and the same girl started to study and live in the City That Never Sleeps waking up every morning with a thankful heart :) I went to NYC a number of times after leaving the US back then but that first time will always be extra special. Last time I woke up in Big Apple was a year ago on our honeymoon. I can't even tell you how amazing it is to make such beautiful memories together <3 New York does win you over quickly and sucks you right in with its beauty and versatility, culture and noise, history and vibe.
Come visit New York with me as I take you to my 5 favourite places in Manhattan, NYC - Part 1.
{In the next post I will show you another 5 must-see spots in gorgeous Big Apple}

What To Wear on a Plane: Airport Fashion Do's and Don'ts

Next month I will be catching 3 flights (6 if you count return). It is not part of my monthly routine but this October just happens to mean a lot of airport time. Plus, I am a good flyer and don't mind being lifted to 39,000 feet and higher. On the contrary, it relaxes me :) Having flown quite a lot in the last 10 years both domestically and (mostly) internationally, I picked up a number of great tips on how to make the whole experience better. It includes different flying-related hacks, preparation and organisation and last but definitely not least - airport fashion. This one is often (sadly) neglected by most people. I certainly don't mean that you should be displaying your haute couture pieces at the airport, though you can if you want to. So what exactly are you supposed to wear at the airport and on a plane to feel and look great?
Let's take a look at these essential DO's and DON'Ts you need to know about travel fashion:

Best Nail Polish Colours For Fall

When it comes to nail polish, I am an advocate for "there's no such thing as too many shades". Every colour is unique and beautiful. Girls know that. Men are not just unable to tell the difference between robin egg blue and viridian green, but they don't believe in the colour palette at all, apart from rainbow colours + black and white :)
On a different note, as we have said gbyes to the lovely nudes, pastels and all the summer'y colours (you can still get away with some of them), it's time to get that fall/autumn collection out.
I would love to share with you my top 5 favourite nail polishes for this chilly & cozy season.

8 Photos of Happiness

Does it take you a long time to look through your old (and new) photos because you start reminiscing? Yup, my case exactly. I was tagged by two lovely girls Sophie and Teri to do this great tag called "8 Photos of Happiness". To say that I am big photo hoarder is an understatement. Ask my husband and he will tell you how I can take over 100 pictures of a perfectly still lake :) Nevertheless, it was very difficult to narrow it down to only 8. Plus, all of the actual prints of my favourite photos (especially good old b&w prints) are left back in Ukraine in my apartment. Little disclaimer: please excuse the watermark on the photos (hope it doesn't annoy you too much), I prefer to use it on the pictures of my family and friends that I post online or simply my own and personal photos. Anyway, after browsing for a while on my camera / phone / photo stash on the computer / Facebook / Instagram and whatnot, the decision was made.
Here are my 8 Photos of Happiness (aka 8 Photos That Make Me Happy):

Blogging Advice: How To Run Your Blog & Keep Up The Pace

This week I received a few messages on Twitter from fellow bloggers. Our chit chat had somehow steered in the direction of "How To Run A Successful Blog (+ live and breathe at the same time)" and "Blogging Tips" in general (#hottopicsamongbloggers). In my humble opinion, the main issue every blogger had, has or will definitely have at some stage is how to keep up the pace and avoid becoming overwhelmed and stressed. In no way I consider myself an expert in blogging even though I've been following and reading blogs for many years. Things are completely different when you start your own blog and face all these different issues: what to write, when to post, how to approach others, what to share, how to self-promote, etc. We are not going to go over all of these questions today but I would like to share with you my personal (and friendly) advice on how to run your blog at full speed, prevent burnout and enjoy it all in the process.

What's In My Bag: Fall Edition

Every season the contents of my bag change but some items always stay there. Also, the bigger the bag, the more I feel the urge to pack it full. I have no idea why I do it but I'm sure a lot of you can relate. Some items tend to pile up and then I face the "clean out the black hole" type of situation :) However, when it comes to my Michael Kors I put an extra effort into keeping things organised inside this beauty. This bag is very special to me because it was a present from my husband on our honeymoon and purchased in Las Vegas. #amazingmemories
Here is what I currently have inside my MK bag:

Holiday Recap: What I Wore In Gran Canaria

Summer 2015 was truly amazing, especially the very end of it when hubby and I were EasyJet'ed off to warm and wonderful Gran Canaria. It was one of the best and most relaxing holidays. You can imagine the shock of the 7 degrees Celsius (low 40s F) when we walked out of the plane at 1 am after having landed in London Gatwick. Brrr! This photo of me wrapped up in a towel is not one of the outfits. However, it is nice to wrap up and cover those burnt shoulders after beach bummin' all day every day :) I hope you will enjoy reading this post as well as having a sneak peak at some of the outfits I wore on holiday.

Wedding Planning 101: Wedding Stationery

Today I am going to share a very special post with you. As I was editing photos (and trying not to spend ages looking at them, awww) and as I am writing this now, I go back in my mind to the most special day in my life - our wedding day. To say that it was a fairytale wedding, is an understatement. Pinterest, you would crave it on your pages!! :) However, what I call fairytale could mean something absolutely different to others. We are all unique - as cliche as it sounds. The main thing is to make your Big Day special for the two of you (and your families and friends). My hubby and I, along with our families, put our hearts into organising the most perfect day for us to start our married life.

A number of my sweet fellow bloggers and friends are getting married this and next year so this post might come in handy. Even if you are not a bride-to-be right now, read on and pin away (please make sure to remember that all the photos are my property and the design work belongs to Es-Design). Also, no matter what age you are now, either you had your wedding day 2 or 20 years ago, or will have it in 10 years from now, I hope you will enjoy this post as I am opening up something so precious and dear to me.

Night Routine: Clarins Multi-Active Night Youth Recovery Cream Review

Holiday time is officially over and it's time to get back to 'reality' and dive into the beautiful autumn/fall. I have had such an amazing time with my hubby (mentally insert all the summer'y emojis you can think of here). We needed a super relaxing getaway somewhere where there are more palm trees than tourists and the sand is coloured platinum to golden blonde (couldn't resist a hair colour ref!). Apart from the after sun lotion, my night routine didn't change on vacation and it had to include a good moisturizing night cream.
Here are my thoughts on Clarins Multi-Active Night Youth Recovery Cream:

5 Must-Have Suede Ankle Boots For Fall: My Wishlist

As we are rolling into the cooler weather and all the fashion goodness that comes in the package, it's high time to revisit your shoe collection and put away those flip flops and sandals. I am still enjoying the heat of Gran Canaria but mentally preparing myself for very chilly mornings in England next week. That's when I am bringing my suede to play! Being big this fall (especially suede button front skirts!), it has always been my favourite type of leather (apart from the actual leather) when it came to ankle boots.
Here are my 5 Must-Have Suede Ankle Boots this fall:

How To Plan and Set Effective Goals

September starts my favourite season of the year with its new adventures, goals, ideas and discoveries. If you're anything like me, you probably make an occasional New Year's resolution. Sometimes you stick to it, sometimes you don't. But, something just clicks when September comes. You slowly "recover" from a post-holiday/vacation daze and realize you actually need to do something! Maybe, you are even full of energy and drive, you jump at projects and get pro-active (at least, let's hope we all feel that way!). If you want to take on the world and make those very-much-needed changes (at work, uni, school, your love life, your home, your blog, your anything), you need a plan, girl. Personally for me September is like this magical word "tomorrow" where everything happens. So without any more chatter, let's make a plan and set super effective goals for September. Are you with me?
