Boots Mini Haul: My Top 7 Essentials

Boots Mini Haul
As some of you may have noticed the absence of much chatter from me or much action at Miel and Mint over the weekend, it is because I've been suffering from awful migraines/sinus headache for a week now. They do knock you out from your normal routine, including blogging. That's why there has been a sofa + minimum screen time + hot tea + fuzzy socks + book + medicines kind of time. However, on Saturday I felt a little bit better in the afternoon (for like a few hours) and my Boots gift card (which I got from my lovely hubby a few weeks ago) was calling my name :) I decided to be smart and not splash out on useless bric a brac / impulse purchases, but instead to make sure and get the staples and a few amazing recommendations from other blogger babes.
Let's take a closer look at my Boots Mini Haul & my top 7 essentials:

Boots Mini Haul
Have you ever had a reaction (not a good one, obvs) to a foundation your skin previously liked? Sadly, it happened to me with Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation. I noticed that I started breaking out badly in a few places at a time and I could't pinpoint the cause. Then it dawned on me that it could the foundation I was using at the time. I felt like I should be nice and sparing with my MAC Pro Longwear and decided to use Dream Satin Liquid for a couple of days. For some reason, it didn't go well with my skin. That's when my post My Favourite Liquid Foundations came to mind and I had a moment of clarity - Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation! So let's start from the face as I kind of already did :)
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, Maybelline Eye Eraser Concealer
These 2 are my big loves! I can't rave enough about them and how many I've gone through because they are THAT good! Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is absolutely incredible and I have definitely missed it in my makeup bag. I am currently in a shade #54 Beige. I love the formula and coverage so so much and will be sharing a more detailed review in comparison to other foundations in the future. Now onto Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer (shade Light). From the very first time I saw it in one of Angela Lanter's videos (she's amazing, by the way, definitely check out her YT channel), I was hooked! It has never disappointed me since. It is one of the best and most importantly, affordable, concealers.
Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick
Having gone to Boots, I had to show some love to Rimmel London. If we move from the right to the left: Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil. Trying not to go too dramatic with my eyebrows I still needed a simple eyebrow pencil which I will be using carefully one brow at a time (not literally). (I honestly can't handle a VERY obvious drawn on look. Just not my cup of tea. Shade Dark Brown matches my eyebrow colour + doesn't clash with my blonde hair. Light hair + perfectly (and in moderation) done dark brow looks so amazing though. Next on my list was one more little addition to my fall nail polishes which would fit in perfectly into my Best Nail Polish Collection for this time of the year. Rimmel London 60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polish #513 Let's Get Nude colour is a perfect pastel colour for those times when I want a lovely nude shade on my nails. I've heard many great things about these thrifty nail polishes! Last but not least in this little trio is ... drum roll ... Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in 107. It is absolutely gorgeous and I look forward to posting a makeup look using this beauty. So many bloggers recommended to give it a go.
Fake eyelashes, Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes
This little part is very special to me as it includes an essential item and a one-off (at least, for me): both extremely important. I can count the times I wore fake eyelashes on one hand. I'm just not a fake eyelash type of a girl (even though I love how they look!). I'm also very lucky to have my own long curly ones for "everyday look" :) Without any more jibber jabber, I must say I am so excited to use these Eylure London Volume Eyelashes in #083. This little treat will come in handy for my hubby's big birthday celebration (woohoo!!!) which is coming up super soon! Big celebration equals big lashes! :) On a different, more day-to-day note, I am still sticking to my most favourite mascara of all times - Maybelline Colossal Mascara Cat Eyes in Black. I've been using it for YEARS and I needed a fresh one in my makeup bag ASAP. If you would like me to do mascara reviews in the future, let me know. I will be comparing all of them to this one, though. Big shoes to fill, big bar to reach :)
Hope you enjoyed this haul and my little chatter on these lovely purchases. Now I'm going to make myself and hubs a cup of tea and take it easy to get rid of this headache. If you are a blogger by night, but a GP/nurse by day (or if you suffer from sinus headache / any type of migraines), your advice will be very much appreciated ;)

  1. Such an interesting post. I absolutely adore the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. Other staples include the Maybelline Lash Sensational waterproof mascara. I must check out that concealer for myself!

  4. Oh no, migraines are the worst! I hope that you're feeling much better! I love the things you got. Those lashes are gorgeous. I'm sure that they'll look fabulous for your hubby's birthday! I just saw them for the first time at my local pharmacy in California. I was heming and hawing over them for a bit, but I'll definitely have to go and grab them now!

  7. This is a lovely haul, they're exactly the type of products I would pick up too :) I have the Bourjois foundation in the same shade too! I've always wanted to try the Maybelline concealer too but I was unsure about the shade range but light might work for me too! I set up a insta lately too (but hardly go on it) so let me know when you set up yours too :)

  11. I know exactly what you mean about the foundations. My skin is a nightmare and reacts so easily to most things that I try new. I usually stick to the same things on my face and only experiment with lips and eyes. That mascara looks great and so does the eyebrow pencil.

I've only tried the Maybelline concealer, what's happening to my drugstore game?! hahaha, I would love to try the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, but I don't know if I'd like it, I prefer a heavier foundation as I have lots of spots to be covered on my cheeks, and I want to try that mascara, it's so eye-catching, but I have like 6-7 open already, so I'm trying to finish them haha.

    1. This is actually not a serum (I think lol) but a really good coverage foundation, hon. You must give it a go! I do too have imperfections on my skin, spots and little scars but it covers them so so well! :)
Haha, hope you finish your mascaras in the next year lol ;)
Thanks for stopping by with a lovely comment, as always <3

Aww, glad you like my new little profile pic. I don't always go for that lilac/purple colour but I guess it doesn't look too bad with the tan lol :) Thanks hon <3

    1. You will LOVE it, hon! It's a must-have. Once I saw Angela Lanter using it, I was like: "If she recommends it, it must be good". It's literally in her pretty much every makeup tutorial :)
Thanks for popping in with a sweet comment ;)

  54. I've heard so many good things about the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation! I know it's a YouTube Beauty Guru favorite. Too bad we can't get it in Argentina or the US. I also really want to try the Maybelline Age Erase Concealer. I've used the Maybelline Fit Me concealer which I really liked and think I will repurchase, but I'd also like to try the Age Erase as well!
