Clinique All About Eyes Rich Cream Review

How many hours of sleep does an average adult person get every night? In a perfect world - 8. In reality - 6, if you're lucky :) This review isn't going to be about a "magic cream" which erases all the traces of the 'I-barely-got-any-sleep' situation or gets the phrase 'dark circles' out of your dictionary. We wish, right? Not sure such a cream was ever invented. However, this is one of the best eye creams I've ever had and it does a fab job at keeping your under-eye skin moisturized and eliminating those dark circles. So if you are just like one of Santa's elves who stays up till late (working/studying/reading/being sucked into the Instagram wormhole) and needs to look fresher and brighter in the morning (and all day long), this cream might be just up your street ;)

It's not a secret how much I love Clinique. Let's face it, so do you, if you've tried basically anything from this brand. I got acquainted with this eye cream about a year ago when I was browsing around the Clinique stand at House of Fraser. Initially, I wanted to get something from the anti-blemish series as my skin broke out at that point (thank you, stress). And then I saw Clinique All About Eyes Rich and had a chat with the skincare expert to see if it's going to suit me. The amazing thing is it works for all skin types! Yay to that because in summer my skin goes super oily. Then comes the fall and it gets sore-dry. Before letting you know my thoughts on this pot of goodness, we must get to the bottom of it. I got into this great habit of always checking the back of the product for its ingredients:
+ caffeine (promotes skin repair)
+ grape seed, pomegranate and tangerine extracts (antioxidant)
+ spike moss extract (helps blood circulation)
+ rosemary extract (soothes inflammation)
+ fragrance-free
My Thoughts:
  • love the fact that it suits all skin types and ages 18 +
  • soft and pleasant smell (or more likely the sheer trace of it) won't irritate those who are sensitive to scents
  • rich texture and smooth velvet'y application
  • absorbs into skin quickly with no residue or stickiness and works well with the concealer
  • reduces the appearance of tiny fine lines (by "smoothing" them out - not overnight obvi)
  • like I mentioned before, it didn't "erase" dark circles completely but did brighten up the under-eye area
  • it is really moisturizing which is the main reason why I got it
  • not sure about its puffiness eliminating powers as, luckily, I hardly ever get puffy eyes
  • it's quite pricey (£26.50 for 15ml) but it lasts forever
  • not a 100% "wow factor" cream (not sure one exists) but it's close enough
  • little tip: keep it in the fridge to get the best results ;)
  • important: before purchasing a pot, try a sample and see if you're not allergic nor sensitive to it (those who suffer from dermatitis, rosacea and rashes on skin, use carefully or try a different product)

Verdict: Will use it until I'm out of it. 7.5/10 according to what it does vs. what it promises to do.

Hope you enjoyed this Clinique All About Eyes Rich review, girlies.

  1. Such a fab, detailed review, sweetheart! <3 Honestly, personally I've had some really bad luck with Clinique skincare products. I've tried their cleanser and a night moisturiser and they bought caused me to break out massively, plus they really irritated my skin and my face ended up all puffy! :( I later found out that Clinique tend to use alcohol in their products, which I think was the cause... I'm tempted to give them another go sometime but I'm just kinda scared after my last experience!! x

    1. Awww that's too bad neither of their skincare worked for you, hon. I did have great experience with their anti-blemish products. This cream is lovely & works for me but I wouldn't say it's the bestest thing in the world. I am still on the hunt for it :)
Hope you find something you love and a product that suits you, either it's Clinique or not :) Thanks for letting me know about your experience, sweets.

  3. I have never used this but I can say that I could have totally used it today, since I only got like 3 hours of sleep, sigh. This would be perfect to keep at your desk to reapply as needed. Thanks for the review!

This is a great cream though, not a wow-factor like I mentioned above but it does work nicely in the moisturizing & brightening the skin up.

  9. Fab review hon! I love the way you talk about products, it hooks me up and I can't stop reading!
I have dry under eyes and so does my mum, so this sounds amazing for me! I'll possibly ask for a sample of it and it may be my mum's Christmas present (she's not really aware of the skincare life, so I try to incorporate some bits and pieces on her presents, and I can't go wrong with this one if you've recommended it!)
I hope you're having an amazing week and that December is going perfectly for you and your hubby. Lots of hugs and kisses, sweetie!

    1. Awww thank you sooo much for such lovely feedback sweetie :) I am yet to navigate to your blog, girlie. Time is just escaping me, especially this week. It's been mental! lol
This cream is lovely and moisturizing, however, be careful when using it if you (or your lovely mum) have sensitive eyes. Better get a little sample first because citrus based components in it might cause a bit of redness/soreness for people who are prone to eye infections. Just putting it out there to be safe :)
awww, you are just super lovely, thanks honey. My December is soooo busy but it's going so nicely, pre-Christmas fun is on :)
Hope you are doing super great & getting excited for the holidays woohoo <3

  10. My mom uses this cream and she loves it! I have even noticed the results also. She use to have dark circles under her eyes and this has really helped to brighten them tremendously. I'm going to look into getting this one actually, once I'm done using Lancome night cream. I tend to switch up my skin care routine quite a bit. I think I'm still trying to find the perfect one. Although I'm also using some of the items from Clinique. Unfortunately my eyes get a little puffy in the morning, but I think it's due to the lack of sleep and not drinking enough water lately.

Drinking enough water is the key. I always forget to drink enough & my hubby is puzzled every time asking how one can forget to drink water :)

That feeling when applying cold cream under you eyes in the morning is sooo refreshing and gets me going (along with a cup of tea of course..) hehe :) Great review, thanks gorgeous <3
