April Favourites
Before I even start writing anything monthly favourites related, let me just say that the weather has been so beautiful this week! It's unreal how warm it is outside, and that alone is a solid reason to smile and be thankful. Back to monthly favourites: as you have probably noticed, March Faves never happened. I had to put blogging on pause for half of month #04. All because April '16 wasn't the greatest one this year. I can definitely say it was one of the toughest months in my life. Have you ever hit that stage when everything is happening at once and crashing down on you? Yeah, that was my April. However, instead of "reminiscing" about the negative / confusing / sad / painful part of last month, let's look back on lovely bits and pieces I got to enjoy. Can't tell you how happy I am April is finito. Praying for guidance and clarity in May. We really really (really!) need it now. As tough as April was, I'm thankful for the lessons I have learnt.

Just like in all of my monthly favourites (which are all found under my Lifestyle tab), I love to start with a special place that I visited and loved. At the very end of March six of our friends from Northern Ireland came over to visit and we had an amazing weekend together. While half of the group went up Snowdon, the rest drove through beautiful Wales. One of the places we absolutely had to stop at was this gorgeous lake Llyn Padarn. There's a handy car park right beside it along with a train station where you can get a ticket to go up to the summit. Snowdonia is so beautiful it blows my mind every time we go there. I have never even thought that Wales could be so stunning!

There are two types of people in this world when it comes to animated movies: you either love them or can't stand them. Age doesn't play the smallest part in it. Same goes for Disney, I guess. A few weeks ago I came across a little tweet about how someone "hated on" Disney everything: characters, movies, parks - you name it. I felt a little pang as I read that because how can you NOT love Disney and become a kid when you enter Magic Kingdom? To each their own, I guess. Ok, back to animated films. Zootopia (US) or Zootropolis (UK) was one of my favourite cartoons of all times! I am not even kidding. Not only the plot was great, witty and ever-evolving but you could clearly pick up pretty amazing lessons for the little ones, main one being "Follow your dreams" and "You can do anything if you believe in yourself". Fab characters, interesting concept, great humour and yes, I highly recommend to watch it, no matter if you're 10 or 40 :)

In a few of my previous monthly faves I couldn't help but feature my favourite animal IG profiles: Pumpkin the Raccoon here, Loki the Wolfdog here and Little Piece of Cat with Caspar and Melchior here. As much as I love a good blog IG acc, furry friends (sometimes they can be spiky) always and instantly win my heart over. It happened again with this adorable hedgehog called Amelia. Amelia Hedgehog quickly became my go-to page for a quick pick-me-up moment. I mean, how can you not smile looking at this cutie pie?! Amelia's human mama Sophia is a queen of gorgeous minimalistic photography over at Sophiahsin. Pop over to her profile & tell her I sent you :)

This is a brand new feature in my monthly faves. Favourite New Thing is literally a new thing :) What a great failed pun, haha! For years and years a girl from a small town in the west of Ukraine has been dreaming of seeing her favourite football team play live. In April 2016 that dream came true - hubby and I along with two of our friends went to the Man Utd game at Old Trafford. For those born and bred in Manchester (or the UK), this might not sound like a big deal. Even though I have traveled quite a bit around the world, this particular experience was truly special to me. We got the seats in the "hardcore fan" zone and it came as quite a surprise that we had to stand up during the whole game. Yup, while the rest of the stadium was sitting down comfortably, we were standing being serenaded by the most fierce Man United fans around us. That was something! Even though you don't see it in the picture, I was proudly wearing my Reds jersey.

Normally I include one favourite product, either makeup or skincare, but last month called for 3. Let's start from the top: St. Ives Apricot Scrub which arrived at my door as a part of a very special delivery. My sweet blogger babe and bestie Kay {Shoes and Glitter} put together the best care package in the history of care packages just to cheer me up. How sweet of her! Believe it or not, it was my first time trying out a St. Ives product and I am swooned. Then there is also The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit hand cream which goes everywhere with me. I love the travel-friendly size and I brought it along on all 6 flights in April. This hand cream does a fantastic job at keeping your hands soft and moisturized absorbing quickly with no grease. I always keep it beside my bed as well. Last but not least - Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer. This little tube is my 3rd one and I will be re-purchasing again and again. Shade range is pretty much non-existent but it's still a fab product (I am in shade 030 Classic Beige). What I would normally do is mix it with a tiny drop of my Sheer Glow by NARS and those dark circles are concealed and blurred like they've never been there. Very affordable, easy to squeeze out and it is long-lasting.

I don't want to sound "basic" and, to be honest, I am not a huge fan of some of the latest slang/lingo as it's often rude and not funny at all. That being said, I love Starbucks haha. If you ask me if I want coffee, you'll most likely hear: "Sure! Starbucks?" As much as I love my Caramel Macchiato, last month it has been all about hot chocolate, and it wasn't from Starbucks. Girl is branching out here. On a serious note, I do love having coffee / tea / hot chocolate in different coffee shops and tea rooms so don't take the beginning of this paragraph at the face value :) Back to the goodness that is hot chocolate... I had the best cuppa at the beautiful family-run place called The Creamery Can which never ever disappoints. Either it's lunch or a tiny (more like huge and delicious) tray bake, they do everything at the top level and with love. This is not promotion but The Creamery Can doesn't need an intro if you are from N. Ireland or have traveled around the country a lot ;) Lovely staff, gorgeous cozy place and they have the most precious dog (called Alfie, I think) that sees every car off!

Just a few days ago (as April was almost gone) the confusion as to where we should be and what we should do kicked in. It was around the same time when I read this verse. Even though there is still uncertainty in the air which makes me, as a human, go into panic modes at times, this simple sentence reminded me that God has got this. He is working. It is so encouraging and it makes those worries go away. We are often huge worriers. Does it help to stress about everything? Defo not. Whenever our past is dragging us down or whether we don't see the way out, or even when the doors shut right in front of us, it is so great to know the simple truth - the Lord will open the right door, provide new opportunities and place us where we need to be. He will do a new thing. Just need to trust completely even at the toughest moment, pray more and let Him handle it. Looking for a house now and feeling the reality of this verse, awaiting His move.
Behold, I will do a new thing - Isaiah 43:19

How was your month #04?
Hope you enjoyed my April Favourites.
