Miel and Mint 2.0
Hello there!
How long has it been?
It’s kind of a rhetorical question, to be honest.
I know exactly how long it’s been because I have been anxiously watching and counting those days, weeks and months as they were swishing by.
Days, weeks and months of zero blogging.
It’s not that I stopped writing or sharing posts. I also stopped reading them (and I usually never stop reading my favourite blogs).
I guess I really did need that long break. 5 months and 5 days long, to be exact.
Some might say I might as well quit since it’s been that long but I disagree. Every content creator hits the wall sooner or later. We all take breaks. Without one it’s impossible to keep the creative flow and inspiration going.
But you know what the best part is after you’ve had a break – COMING BACK!
Quick Update
No guilt (or at least trying to hush it)
It’s taken a number of weeks to get that nagging guilty feeling to quiet down. You know the feeling when you know you *must* stay on top on things, you *must* keep your blog updated with fresh content, you *must* post on Instagram every day.
Once I sent my guilt packing, I could breathe and actually live a life outside my blog.
It was important for me (and still is) to keep a large part of my life to myself. That’s why I will never be the person who posts 100+ Insta stories a day. Maybe only when I travel.
As much as bloggers, vloggers and Instagrammers claim they love what they do, they also thrive when they get to have a day free of “having to post something”.
For some, it’s their full-time job, therefore, they can’t afford to have an offline day. However, when Instagram had a glitch and was down for 24 hours a few months ago a lot of people, including business owners, said how much they enjoyed an impromptu break.
I used to think I would get behind if I stop posting or that people will forget about me.
That risk is 100% real.
At the same time, I strongly believe that my people are still here and are going to be here no matter what. Maybe I am naive but I do believe in that. Shout-out to you, wonderful human, who’s reading this now.
Recovery
Most of you know what happened to me back in November.
Here is a blog post that explains everything in detail.
It’s been one long road to recovery.
Some days and weeks were easy, some were tough but every time I managed to power through it.
Also, I can’t believe the number of emails and messages I get from people who got this awful injury as well.
They found my blog post and they had questions. Most needed reassurance that everything will be okay. Some wanted to ask how far I’ve come since it happened.
Lisfranc injury is not a simple fracture. Not only does it debilitate you physically but it messes with your mind in a big way.
I am going to write a more detailed blog post about my recovery with a hope to reassure those who have been going through the same experience, and also to encourage those who suffered from a traumatic accident and/or have been dreaming for weeks to go outside for a walk on their two feet. I hear you.
What’s in store for Miel and Mint?
New look
Did you notice I got a beautiful brand new theme? (proud parent feels)
It took me a while to save for it but it’s worth it!
Not that the old one was bad but it stopped working me. It wasn’t functional enough and it didn’t inspire me any more either.
Miel and Mint 2.0 has a number of new additions, like a new and improved header menu.
In addition, Lifestyle & Reviews categories now have subcategories which, I hope, will make browsing and locating content easier + it looks fun.
They might change and alter as we go along to accommodate you, the reader, in the best way possible.
Have a browse through the whole page, scroll down as far as you can go – I hope you like all the new additions, including my Newsletter which I will be sending out once every 2 weeks (might increase later on to once a week) where I will be sharing exclusive content, freebie resources and new giveaways.
It looks like this and is located on my home page.
I also have a number of fun collaborations coming up as well as a WHOLE LOT of content which will serve a purpose, entertain you and inspire you.
Oh, and my About Me page took me days to put together. As it turns out, it’s not that easy to write an About Me page.
New inspiring content & exciting collaborations
Even though, as you are now fully aware, I was taking a long break from my blog, I never stopped jotting down ideas for future blog posts.
As I reveal, post by post, all the fun stuff that’s being happening behind the scenes and share what’s yet to come, my goal is to keep you uplifted, inspired, in love with life, discovering your passions and reaching those goals, one day at a time.
On top of that, I have carefully selected incredible brands and businesses I cannot wait to share about with you.
Every collaboration I ever did and will do, is labelled in accordance to the ASA guidelines.
Every brand I’ve worked with and will work with, either here on the blog and/or on Instagram, is meticulously selected by me. I will only share the products I use and enjoy, and I will spread the word about companies and businesses I personally fully stand behind and love.
Community
Number one reason why I hadn’t quit blogging was the community.
I simply couldn’t do without you lovely bunch, and from now on I want to be present and there for you even more.
That’s why I am starting a closed Facebook group for content creators, blog readers and people who want to feel inspired to get support they need on a daily basis. Let me know if you’d like to be added.
Thank you for reading and welcome (or welcome back) to Miel and Mint 2.0.
